The last time Slim K and AWKWORD connected it was for the Chopstar's Slowdown of AWKWORD's Harry Fraud-produced song “Bars & Hooks” featuring Sean Price and The Kid Daytona. (HipHopWired World Premiere.)

This time the rising star from OG Ron C's crew chops & screws AWKWORD's daunting drug anthem “Requiem”.

The song features production from ATG; guest verses from Ess Vee, as well as SoulStice and CuzOH! Black; and a sing-along hook led by AWKWORD, with backup vocals from Ess Vee, Australia’s Jay Daniels and Grindhouse Gang’s Mark Deez.

With molly and promethazine syrup taking over the Hip Hop scene and defining the image and work of many major artists, this is a timely sarcastic pro-drug-slash-drug-PSA song, now so fittingly purple-ized by Slim K.

As DJ Z (DJBooth) said, “Need some fresh music to play at your next kegger? AWKWORD’s got just the thing — provided you like your party music with a pitch-black edge.”

DJ Booth:

Need some fresh music to play at your next kegger? AWKWORD‘s got just the thing—provided you like your party music with a pitch-black edge. Described by the artist as a “frat party track with the worst of tragic undertones,” Requiem finds the headliner trading verses with SoulStice, Ess Vee and Cuz OH! Black over a brooding instrumental by ATG. This moody selection is just one of many quality jams set for inclusion on DJBooth-sponsored, 100%-for-charity street album World View, set to hit our mixtape page for digital purchase in the near future.

This ill track”, The #Requiem was first heard on The Company Man Show on PNC Radio [FM/Internet] and world premiered exclusively through Andreas Hale's The Well Versed. Since, it’s been getting spins as nearby as New York City (e.g., WNYU Radio’s This Culture Will Never Die show with DJ Dharmic X) and as far away as Germany (e.g., Trackblasters Radio with DJ P.R.). It has also been featured — with critical acclaim — by the likes of Please Don’t Stare, You Heard That New [give it 5 stars!], DJ Booth [play, rate & comment!], Ashley Outrageous, Kevin Nottingham, The Mad Bloggers [rate it “Dope”], Donuts And Milk, Buck Marley XXX, Rock The Dub, Deal With No Deal, DOPE Music Blog [rate it “DOPE”], Eastside Morales, We Goin In, Womazing, Definition of Fresh, Hip Hop Dependency and DJ Loscar (France).

Trap Rock Radio:

This track is too Dope! NYC hip-hop artist “AWKWORD” drops “Rainy Daze” featuring Main Flow, Mojo (of Dujeous), and Baltimore’s Own “Rickie Jacobs”. The word was passed that this song will be featured on Awkword’s project called ‘World View’. And guess what, Every last bit of the proceeds will go to charity. Now how trill is that? This is the first I’ve heard of someone doing so. Big Shout out to Rickie Jacobs for being apart of this historic masterpiece.

rock the dub:

This is the latest single from AWKWORD’s World View project, and it features the Bmore boy Rickie Jacobs (who also sorted out that Charlie Brown-tinged artwork) and others. BuckMarleyXXX got the world premiere on this, and I’m just hoping I avoid the rain. Or snow. I think it’s going to snow. This might actually be something dope to watch snow fall to. Fly shit.

Kevin Nottingham:

Another banger from AWKWORD! This time he enlists the help of Main Flow (of Mood), Rickie Jacobs, Mojo (Dujeous frontman) and the production of The Aqua League for the single “Rainy Daze.” You will be able to find the single on the upcoming sponsored, 100% for-charity global Hip-Hop project from AWKWORD entitled World View.

DJ Booth:

Fresh off earning reader plaudits for Radio 2.0, the third release off his DJBooth-sponsored, 100%-for-charity mixtape, AWKWORD returns to our pages with leak number four off the highly-anticipated project. On Rainy Daze, The Aqua League serve up a cinematic, string/piano instrumental as the Big Apple underground spitter trades lyrically on-point bars with Main Flow (of Mood), Rickie Jacobs and Mojo the Cinematic (frontman of Booth-approved crew Dujeous). World View has yet to receive a drop date, but those who like what they’re hearing can keep it locked for more fresh tunes off the project.

There is a Rainy Daze Part II. It features AWOL One, Bisc1 a.k.a. Bisco Smith & broke MC. It is produced by Cletus a.k.a. Romablaster of Rome, Italy. It will be available on World View, ONLY VIA Stay tuned for more news. Album drops 2012.
